Last September, the Seahawks had Cameron Kenney in for a tryout after the former University of Oklahoma wide receiver was released by the Chargers. Today, they signed the 6-foot-1, 193-pound Kenney.
To clear a spot on the 90-man roster, former Central Washington University wide receiver Justin Helwege was released. He had been signed last week.
Kenney originally signed with the Chargers last July after not being selected in the NFL Draft. He was released on Aug. 30.
Justin Helwege, a wide receiver from Central Washington University who had a tryout during the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp, was signed today.
To clear a spot on the 90-man roster, tackle Andrew Mitchell was released. He had been signed last week.
The 6-foot-6, 217-pound Helwege led the Wildcats with 51 receptions for 717 yards and eight touchdowns last season. He also played at Eastlake High School in Sammamish.
