Not Woodrow, but Russell. The Seahawks’ first-year quarterback has been nominated for NFL Rookie of the Week, again.
Wilson threw three first-half touchdown passes in the Seahawks’ 30-20 victory over the Vikings on Sunday, when he was 16 of 24 for 173 yards and a 127.3 passer rating. Wilson also ran nine times for 27 yards.
But his competition is stiff, as the other nominees for the weekly award are Colts QB Andrew Luck, who passed for a NFL rookie-record 433 yards; Buccaneers running back Doug Martin, who ran for 251 yards and four touchdowns; Browns running back Trent Richardson, who ran for 105 yards; and Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, who caught six of Luck’s 30 completions for 102 yards and a TD.
Unlike that other election today, balloting for the rookie honor runs until noon on Friday. You can cast your vote here.
