Beason, Gamble inactive for Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Panthers will be without middle linebacker and leading tackler Jon Beason and also top cover cornerback Chris Gamble for today’s game against the Seahawks.

Neither player practiced during the week, Beason because of a knee injury and Gamble because of a shoulder injury.

With Gamble out, Captain Munnerlyn will start. He was a starter last season, but allowed more completions than any cornerback in the league and was replaced this season by rookie Josh Norman.

To replace Beason, rookie Luke Kuechly will slide to middle linebacker and be replaced on the outside by Thomas Davis.

The Panthers won’t have starting guard Geoff Hangartner, either. Garry Williams will start on the right side.

Also inactive for the Panthers:

QB Jimmy Clausen

WR Joe Adams

S D.J. Campbell

DE Thomas Keiser
