In a nutshell: No score, and a whole lotta defense. Each team crossed midfield once, as the Seahawks got to the Packers’ 44 and the Packers to the Seahawks’ 49.
Player of the quarter: Bruce Irvin. The Seahawks’ first-round draft choice had not one, but two sacks. The first came on third-and-10 on the Packers’ first possession. The second came on second-and-20, on an inside move when tackle Bryan Bulaga appeared to hold Irvin on his rush.
Play of the quarter: On second-and-10 on the Packers’ first possession, Red Bryant fought off a block to drop Cedric Benson for no gain.
Number of the quarter: 4. The Seahawks were penalized that many times. Twice against the offense and one each on defense and special teams.
