Left tackle Russell Okung worked out prior to the game and it was deemed he isn’t ready to play against the Cowboys today because of the bruised left knee he got in the fourth quarter of last week’s opener. Frank Omiyale will start for Okung after getting the majority of reps in practice during the week.
This is the second change on the line from last week’s starting lineup, as John Moffitt has stepped back in at right guard for rookie J.R. Sweezy.
But Golden Tate, who sat out last week’s game with a knee injury, is active and will start at split end.
“It helps a lot,” quarterback Russell Wilson said during the week. “Golden is a very, very talented receiver and he works extremely hard in practice. He has a swagger about himself when he gets out on the football field, and that’s always good to have, too.”
