Lynch active, Tate inactive

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Marshawn Lynch is active for today’s season opener against the Cardinals, but it remains to be seen how much the Seahawks’ leading rusher is able to play because of the back spasms that sidelined him since the second preseason game and limited his practice time during the week.

Coach Pete Carroll said on Friday that split end Golden Tate would not play against the Cardinals because of the knee he tweaked returning a punt in the preseason finale. It’s now official, as Tate is among the players listed inactive for today’s game.

Braylon Edwards will start for Tate, opposite flanker Sidney Rice.

Also inactive:

RB Kregg Lumpkin

CB Byron Maxwell

DL Greg Scruggs

OG John Moffitt

OG James Carpenter

DL Jaye Howard
