Russell Wilson will make the next logical step in his already-rapid progression as the rookie quarterback is going to start Friday night’s preseason game against the Chiefs in Kansas City.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll made the announcement today after practice, when Wilson ran the No. 1 offense to get him ready for his first NFL start. Matt Flynn started the first two preseason games, with Wilson taking over in the second half.
“I’m excited to see how he does playing with the first unit,” Carroll said. “He’s done a very nice job throughout and we think it’s warranted.”
In his 11 series during the first two games, Wilson has directed five touchdown drives and another that ended in a field goal.
