Look who’s coming to camp

Today’s two hour-plus practice at the Seahawks’ Bing training camp attracted a crowd of 953 fans to Virginia Mason Athletic Center, including a hardcore Kenny Easley fan and an 8-year old whose favorite moment in franchise history happened before he was born:

Andrew Bennett

Age: 41

From: Everett

Fan since: “Since ’76. Since I was a little guy, just like these guys,” said Bennett, pointing to his sons – Alexander, soon to be 7; and Marcus, soon to be 6.

Favorite current player: Kam Chancellor. “He reminds me a lot of Kenny Easley,” said Bennett, who was wearing a No. 45 Easley jersey.

Favorite all-time Seahawk: Easley. “I just liked the way he played,” Bennett said.

Favorite Seahawk moment: “Sitting in my seats when they won the NFC Championship (in 2005),” said Bennett, who has been a season-ticket holder for 12 years.

Kirsten Haines

Age: 41

From: Maple Valley

Fan since: “Since I was born.”

Favorite current player: “I don’t have one. I’m looking for one.”

Favorite all-time Seahawk: Steve Largent

Favorite Seahawk moment: “When they played in the Super Bowl,” said Haines, who was accompanied is her husband, Gary (a Steelers fan), and their children – Alex, 12; Gavin, 9; and 6-year-old twins Hunter and Olivia.

Seamus Holland

Age: 8

From: Portland

Fan since: “All my life.”

Favorite current player: Matt Flynn (he was wearing a No. 15 Flynn jersey)

Favorite all-time Seahawk: Steve Largent

Favorite Seahawk moment: “The one where Dave Krieg fumbled the snap and then threw a touchdown pass.” Wait a minute. That happened long before Seamus was born, and voted one of the top plays in the first 25 seasons of “Monday Night Football.” What gives? “It just shows what a Seahawk fan he is,” said his mother, Ann.
