Kam Chancellor had never been to Manhattan. Until this week.
The Seahawks’ Pro Bowl strong safety represented the team at the unveiling of the league’s new uniforms in a joint venture by the NFL and Nike at a warehouse in Brooklyn on Tuesday. He then celebrated his 24th birthday at a club in Manhattan that night.
And Chancellor took both boroughs by storm.
He was featured on front page teases about the event in the Wednesday editions of USA Today and the Wall Street Journal. His picture also appeared in newspaper and on website coverage of the unveiling from Long Island to Portland.
“This is my first time actually in New York, and seeing New York and experiencing New York,” Chancellor, who grew up in Virginia and went to Virginia Tech, offered after the presentation. “And I have to say, I’m really enjoying being here.”
