INDIANAPOLIS – Robert Griffin III wowed the media during his interview session Friday, and then continued his impressive journey through the NFL Scouting Combine this morning.
The Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner ran a pair of 40-yard dashes in 4.41 and 4.38 seconds. The times are unofficial, but they’re also fast enough to allow the RG3 legend to officially continue its meteoric rise.
Although Stanford QB Andrew Luck still is considered a lock to the Colts with the first pick overall, every time RG3 does something off-the-charts it only increases the value of the Rams’ No. 2 pick as QB-needy teams lineup with trade offers to get a shot at him.
Pete Carroll was convinced that Griffin could make the move to the next level even before Griffin turned on the jets.
Asked about Griffin’s ability to play in a West Coast or Pro Style offense, the Seahawks coach offered, “He’ll be able to do whatever is asked of him. He’s got that kind of range of ability. Now it’s a different system he’s coming out of, much different than what we typically see with the big-time pocket passing quarterbacks. But he’s just such a marvelous athlete, and he’s so smart. And he has such a great makeup about him – and I’m saying that ahead of us visiting with him when we’ll get to know him more in time. But I would think that he can handle anything.”
