INDIANAPOLIS – Melvin Ingram is considered by many to be one of the top prospects in this year’s draft class. He’s also one of the better athletes.
Says who? Ingram, the 6-foot-1, 264-pound outside linebacker/defensive end/pass-rusher from the University of South Carolina.
Ingram just told the media at the NFL Scouting Combine that, among other things, he played on the hands team for the Gamecocks, can do a back flip and was the point guard on his high school basketball team.
How much did he weigh at the time he was running the offense in high school?
“Probably about 225 (pounds),” Ingram said today.
Hmm. Any volunteers to take a charge with Ingram leading the fast break?
Was his game more dish or swish?
“I was a scorer, yes sir,” he said through a large grin.
Where does Ingram feel he’s best suited to play in the NFL?
“Just anywhere a coach needs me to play,” he said. “I feel I can play any position on the football field.”
