Be Well Washington Week comes to Qwest Field on Saturday.
The “family health week” event that drew 5,000 people last August is making a return visit, and the goal is to get 15,000 involved.
Saturday’s program runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, skin cancer and other conditions. There also will be healthy cooking demonstrations and a kids’ corner, with balloon artists and face painters.
Former Seahawks scheduled to appear are center Robbie Tobeck (10-11 a.m.), linebacker Michael Jackson (11-noon), wide receiver Paul Skansi (noon-1 p.m.) and linebacker Dave Wyman (1-2 p.m.). Entertainment will include appearances by Blitz (10 a.m.-noon), Blue Thunder (11-noon) and the Sea Gals (1-2 p.m.).
The event is free and co-sponsored by Regence BlueShield, the Seahawks, SoundersFC and Q13. Additional information on Saturday’s event, as well as related activities this week, is available at BeWellWashington.net.
