The Seahawks’ search for an offensive coordinator has begun with Darrell Bevell, who held the same position with the Minnesota Vikings the past five seasons.
Coach Pete Carroll said during his just-completed season-ending news conference that Bevell is being interviewed for the vacancy that opened Tuesday when Jeremy Bates was relieved of his duties after one season with the Seahawks.
Carroll also said that the decision to part ways with Bates was “a philosophical issue.”
The Seahawks also are looking for a quarterbacks coach after Jedd Fisch left to become offensive coordinator at the University of Miami. Carroll said he would prefer to have an offensive coordinator and a QB coach, rather than hiring one person to fill both jobs.
