Always positive

The master of positive spin is at it again.

Coach Pete Carroll, the eternal optimist himself, is turning what could be perceived as a burden — a 2,500-mile flight, crossing three time zones and a full day of travel on the day before the game — into a benefit, as the Seahawks will depart for Tampa on Saturday at 10 a.m. The nearly six-hour flight will allow players ample time to rest, relax and nap, and then they’ll get to sleep in on Sunday as well since the game isn’t until 4:15 p.m. Eastern.

“Let’s let all of this work in our favor,” Carroll told his players.
