Thanks to “Victory Monday” giving players the day off at the start of the week, today’s meetings acted as both the review of the previous game and the introduction to the next one.
The focus was split accordingly.
The team watched a video highlight package of the 36-18 win over Arizona, with Coach Pete Carroll especially praising his team for bouncing back from an opening-drive touchdown by the Cardinals — and from back-to-back blowout losses.
“It shows that it doesn’t matter what happens in the past,” Carroll told his team. “It matters how we respond, and we responded perfectly.
“The coolest thing is the statement that we made and the statement that we need to own, that this was the game we are capable of playing.”
After going over the Cardinals victory, Carroll and the Seahawks shifted their attention to Sunday’s matchup in New Orleans against a 6-3 Saints team just nine months removed from the Super Bowl.
“Here we go, turn it around,” Carroll said. “It’s Wednesday, we’re moving on to New Orleans. It’s a great challenge, but we need to take our game there and prepare today and this week how we know how to prepare.”
