John Idzik, the Seahawks’ vice president of football administration, has been signed to a two-year contract extension.
The announcement was made this morning.
“We are excited that John Idzik will remain as the team’s lead negotiator,” general manager John Schneider said in a statement. “Although we come from different football backgrounds, I believe we have really connected and I have found him to be a very talented, well-respected and fair negotiator who always places the team’s interest first.
“There is no doubt in my mind he will play an important role in helping bring a championship to the Northwest.”
Idzik is in his fourth season with the Seahawks after joining the club on Feb. 16, 2007. He oversees player negotiations, the team’s compliance with the NFL salary cap and player personnel transactions, all football operations budgets, staff and team contracts, team travel and most aspects of the day-to-day football operations while also remaining active in player evaluations.
