Pete Carroll went to his bag of motivational tricks this morning.
At the start of today’s team meeting, Carroll told his players and assistants to stand up and switch seats in the auditorium. As creatures of habit, the players had been sitting in the same seats all season, but Carroll wanted everyone to get a new vantage point for the daily team meeting — and for the rest of the season.
“Things should look a little different,” Carroll told the Seahawks after they had shuffled around and found new seats. “You can’t sit where you were and expect to go places.”
The symbolic ploy was meant to kick start the second half of the Seahawks’ 2010 season as Carroll hopes his team gets “cleaner, sharper, righter.”
“We’ve got to do things a little differently,” the head coach said. “We’ve got to get better. Tighten the screws. Let’s take this next step.”
