The injuries that defensive end Red Bryant and left guard Ben Hamilton got in Sunday’s loss to the Raiders proved to be season ending.
The Seahawks placed both players on injured reserve today, Bryant because of knee injury and Hamilton because of what coach Pete Carroll called a “pretty significant” concussion.
The club also signed two players: defensive tackle Frank Okam to the 53-man roster and defensive end James Wyche to the practice squad. Wyche was on the practice squad for the first six weeks of the season before being released Oct. 19. Okam (6-5, 350) was with the Houston Texans the past 2½ seasons.
Spots were cleared for Okam and Wyche by releasing running back Quinton Ganther and cornerback Nate Ness from the 53-man roster and linebacker Slade Norris from the practice squad.
Ness and Ganther started against the Raiders because of injuries to cornerbacks Kelly Jennings and Walter Thurmond and fullback Michael Robinson. But all three are expected to return for this week’s game against the New York Giants at Qwest Field.
Seattle’s active roster currently stands at 50 players.
