Machine-like preparation

Routine is a thing of beauty.

Like clockwork, the Seahawks are heading into their eve-of-game meetings now, embarking into a schedule that’s exactly the same as every other Saturday night, regardless of whether they’re at home or on the road.

Coach Pete Carroll appreciates routine because it helps players prepare without distractions, he said. Here’s a look at the schedule for the rest of the night at the team hotel in the Bay Area:

7:30 p.m. • Special teams meeting
8 p.m. • Offense/defense meetings
8:30 p.m. • Team meeting
8:45 p.m. • Snack
9 p.m. • Optional mass service
9:15 p.m. • Optional chapel service
11 p.m. • Bed check
