Sunday’s Seahawks-Cardinals game is a big game in all regards, with sole possession of first place in the NFC West on the line.
Coach Pete Carroll doesn’t want anything to do with that talk, though.
“If you think this is a big game, you’re wrong,” a passionate Carroll told his players during this morning’s team meeting. “Every game is huge. As soon as you make one game bigger than another, you separate in the other direction too and some games become less.
“It doesn’t matter, it never matters, who comes in. It just happens to be the Cardinals this week.”
Carroll lauded his players for a focused week of practice, but he challenged them to take it through to the finish.
“Can you carry the focus all the way through?” Carroll said. “Let’s be unusually, uncommonly focused and lasered in all the way to the end.
“We don’t have to do anything different; we just have to play our game.”
