The Seahawks’ matchup at St. Louis is all about the preposition.
As in on the road, away from home and in an environment the team is seeking its first win in. Much has been made about the Seahawks’ road ineptitude in recent seasons, but the only away-from-home stat that matters to this year’s team is its 0-1 — or the one loss acquired in Denver two weeks ago. Seattle aims to get that record to 1-1 this weekend and achieve a major milestone in the process.
“We haven’t won on the road yet, so it’s still a challenge out there for us to go get,” Carroll said this morning. “This is an extremely important opportunity for us because we haven’t done it right yet. Let’s be really tuned in to taking our game on the road.”
The Seahawks don’t have to wait until Sunday in St. Louis to make it happen, either. They will put themselves in position to win this weekend by practicing well over the next four days.
“We need to play how we’re capable of playing, and we guarantee that by how we prepare this week,” Carroll said. “This is a challenge we need to accomplish.”
