Carlson and Company

Did you happen to catch the work done by the tight ends around the league on Sunday?

The Seahawks’ John Carlson led the Seahawks with five catches for 61 yards and scored their only offensive touchdown in a wild 27-20 victory over the Chargers at Qwest Field.

But 10 other tight ends also led their teams in receiving: the Falcons’ Tony Gonzalez (8 for 110), Chargers’ Antonio Gates (7 for 109), Jets’ Dustin Keller (6 for 98), Saints’ Jeremy Shockey (8 for 78), Lions’ Tony Sheffler (7 for 60), Cowboys’ Jason Witten (7 for 56), Patriots’ Aaron Hernandez (6 for 65), Bengals’ Jermaine Gresham (4 for 59), Chiefs’ Tony Moeaki (4 for 44) and Jaguars’ Marcedes Lewis (3 for 15).

And 10 others also caught TD passes: Keller (2), Gates, Moeaki, Sheffler, Gonzalez, Shockey, the Raiders’ Zach Miller, Dolphins’ Anthony Fasano, Browns’ Ben Watson and Bills’ Jonathan Stupar.

Coincidence? Hardly. Trend. Definitely.
