Curiously, long blonde hair has been flowing out of the back of Jon Ryan’s helmet this year.
It’s for good reason, though. And a good cause.
The Seahawks punter is growing his hair out for Locks of Love, a nonprofit that provides hairpieces to children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
“I just came across it randomly and wanted to help out,” Ryan said.
Ryan’s been growing out his locks for 14 months now and his hair is already eight inches long. With three inches left to grow before he can cut it and donate it, he’s said he’s got about seven more months of long hair ahead of him.
All in all, Ryan’s campaign will take more than 21 months from start to finish.
