A ‘competitive’ weekend
The setting was the same. The participants were not.
The Seahawks, now slimmed down to 53 players plus eight on the practice squad, gathered for a team meeting at noon today, their first meeting since a slew of post-preseason roster cuts, waiver-wire pickups and even a trade.
Coach Pete Carroll put the busy weekend in perspective for his players.
“It was a competitive weekend, and it was a difficult weekend,” Carroll told his squad. “We competed so hard. A lot of stuff happened to make us a better football team.
“I couldn’t be more fired up with where we are now and heading into this first game.”
