Fasten your seatbelts — the Seahawks are ready to fly.
Following a short walk-thru on Friday morning, 130 players, coaches and staffers will head to Minneapolis on a private charter, set to depart Virginia Mason Athletic Center at noon for SeaTac Airport, where they’re scheduled to take off at 1 p.m.
The traveling process will be anything but stressful for the Seahawks. A crew of TSA workers will set up a satellite checkpoint at VMAC, allowing the players, coaches and staffers to cycle through security before getting on the bus for the airport, which will incredibly speed up the boarding and departure process.
“We try to make it as easy as possible for the team,” Seahawks director of security Rick Ninomiya said.
The team has chartered a 767 from Hawaiian Airlines for roadtrips this fall, leaving plenty of space for the 130 members of the traveling party to stretch out in the spacious 220-seat cabin.
