The Seahawks will be a part of what might seem like a three-ring circus this weekend in Minnesota.
Saturday’s matchup at the Metrodome will be Brett Favre’s first home game since re-unretiring, creating an interesting sideshow to the preseason contest itself. And Coach Pete Carroll is cautioning his players to not get caught up in the buzz or the mystique of playing the 40-year-old Favre, who has created quite the media stir in recent weeks with his return to the NFL.
“It’s not going to be that big of a deal when the game starts,” the head coach said of the Favre hoopla. “Put it in the proper place so we don’t get out of whack. We’ve got to set aside all the side distractions to the game — it’ll be good practice for what we’ll have to do in games this season.
“It’s not who we’re playing that’s important. It’s us doing what we do that’s important.”
