As the game closes in, the Seahawks — almost counter-intuitively — are turning their attention away from the opponent.
And it’s exactly what Coach Pete Carroll wants.
Their Packers-specific preparation in the books, the Seahawks are now concentrating almost entirely on themselves and “getting mentally right,” as Carroll says.
“It’s about us, not about the other guys,” Carroll told his players. “If we’re thinking about the other team, it’s only spreading our focus and turning our energy. Then they’re winning.
“Don’t let them take you out of your game. Stay focused on us.”
