Here are the highlights from Tuesday’s practice on Day 18 of Bing Training Camp:
- Cornerback Marcus Trufant epitomized “ball hawk” on Tuesday, as he got involved with two interceptions. On the first, he jumped up alongside wideout Deon Butler and ripped the ball out of the receiver’s hands while both were falling to the ground. Then later in team drills, the veteran cornerback tipped a deep pass intended for Golden Tate to safety Jordan Babineaux, who made a sparkling play by reeling in the ball with one hand while dragging his feet inbounds along the right sideline.
- Matt Hasselbeck had another highly productive practice, completing several nice passes but also showing his savvy on numerous plays. On one play during team drills, the shotgun snap came in low and fell to the ground, but Hasselbeck scooped it up, acrobatically avoided the rush and threw a strike to Deion Branch for a short touchdown. Then he found a small hole in the secondary to rifle a pass into wideout Mike Williams and finally chucked a sidearm pass to tight end John Carlson, which allowed him to circumvent the approaching defensive linemen.
- During practice-ending team period, tailback Justin Forsett turned in a handful of nice runs, including a shifty rush up the middle for a big gain and then a bouncing run off tackle to reach the open field.
- During team drills, Charlie Whitehurst completed a perfectly placed 25-yard pass to Mike Williams near the right sideline.
