As the season inches closer and the media attention continues to ramp up, Coach Pete Carroll is making a push to his players to block out the talk and focus on the walk.
Three national media members attended Thursday’s practices, and ESPN’s Chris Mortensen will stop by Saturday on his nationwide training camp tour. And that’s in addition to the hourly media coverage the local press has been providing and the minutely chatter in various online forums.
There’s a lot of Seahawk babble out there, and Carroll is cautioning his players to keep it out as they prepare, practice and play.
“No outside opinion can affect us and determine how we play — unless we let it,” Carroll told his players. “We have the power. It’s a great challenge, it’s not easy, but we need to be great at not letting outside things influence how we practice or play.”
