Six practices into Bing Training Camp and the Seahawks offense has been impressing the coaches in several ways, but in one area in particular.
Turnovers. Or better yet, the lack thereof.
For the most part, the offense has been a steel trap with the football, surrendering very few interceptions and fumbles during team drills so far this camp. As positive of news as that is for the offense, it’s an area for improvement on the defensive side of the ball. Offensive assistant coaches have even started lightheartedly teasing their defensive cohorts in team meetings for the lack of takeaways so far this camp.
“That’s a terrific job by the offense,” the defense-minded Coach Pete Carroll told his team, “but the challenge now goes to the defense. We’ve got to get that football out.”
