Technically the Seahawks are still in the beginning stages of training camp, though the talk around Virginia Mason Athletic Center is all about finishing.
Coach Pete Carroll is making a push to his players to focus on finishing — every drill, every practice and every day. He wants them to be “comfortable, at ease and poised” during those crunch times in practices so they’ll be more mentally prepared for the pressure-packed fourth quarters this fall.
“The more we can focus and concentrate, the more we’ll be able to finish in the end,” Carroll told his team. “Let’s be a great finishing team in practice, workouts and games. That’s where we’ve got to come through, because games are won in the fourth quarter in this league.
“Let’s focus on finishing better than the other guys.”
