Plays of the day: Morning edition

Here are some highlights from Monday morning’s practice, the first of a two-a-day today:

  • Tailback Julius Jones had a big day, as he took advantage of some cracks in the line and turned in numerous shifty runs for long gains.
  • On a deep ball to wideout Golden Tate down the left sideline, cornerback Josh Wilson produced a spectacular breakup by soaring up and knocking the ball away.
  • During team run period, tailback Quinton Ganther logged a few noteworthy runs, including one that saw him get stonewalled and wrapped up at the line before wriggling free and springing outside for a big gain.
  • Thanks in large part to a huge block at the line by Golden Tate, wideout Ben Obomanu turned a short receiver screen pass into a lengthy pickup near the end of practice.
