The spotlight will be on several areas during today’s two practices, with the first set for 9 a.m. and the second up at 4 p.m.
First, it’s “Turnover Monday” for the Seahawks, meaning Coach Pete Carroll has called on both the offense and defense to “raise their consciousness about the football.” If the defense gets a turnover, they win the practice, while the offense must pitch a shutout in order to capture the victory.
The team will also focus on fringe and red zone scenarios, which will allow both sides of the ball to prepare for specific situations they’ll see in games this fall. All of these emphases will hone the offense and defense and help keep the Seahawks focused on a target Carroll has set in front of them.
“Let’s not be normal,” the head coach told his team. “Let’s be above the rest with this stuff.”
