Besides the 2,632 raucous fans in attendance and a special appearance by team mascot Blitz, Sunday afternoon’s practice at Virginia Mason Athletic Center featured another element quite unique to game days.

Coaches communicated to quarterbacks and linebackers via in-helmets radios, the same technology used on Sundays in the fall. It’s another layer of making practice just like the game, allowing players and coaches to adequately prepare for a key component of on-field communication.
