The coaches made like Allen Iverson during this morning’s staff meeting.
They were talking ’bout practice.
Coach Pete Carroll led a spirited discussion about the team’s philosophies for practice, declaring the workouts — which all start with a two-a-day on Saturday — the “ultimate competitive experience for us.”
“Practice is everything for us, because that’s where we make us,” Carroll told his assistants, repeating one of his favorite phrases. “We can’t mess around with this. We’ve got to cherish it and max out our opportunities out there.”
Carroll also touched on the importance of having spectators at practice in raising the level of play.
“We’ve got to look at practice as a performance,” Carroll said. “There’s never going to be a game where people aren’t watching. Somebody’s always watching. So let’s practice that way. It will elevate our play.”
