The Seahawks-Sounders FC company softball team had a surprise addition to the roster on Monday night.
His name? Pete Carroll.
The head coach, a standout baseball player in high school, stopped by Marymoor Park to help the Seahawks-Sounders FC squad to a 23-3 mercy-rule victory late Monday night. Carroll went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a few put-outs in the outfield, but he wasn’t too satisfied with his performance on the team made up of mostly corporate partnership, communications and ticket sales staffers.
“My timing’s off,” Carroll said half-jokingly. “I need to hit the batting cage.”
