The Seahawks defense will act as a scout team of sorts this morning to give its offensive counterparts a legitimate look at a scheme that eight of the team’s 16 opponents will utilize in 2010. In what’s commonly referred to as “the copycat league,” the 3-4 system has become en vogue in the NFL over the past several years because of its recent success on thriving teams like the Patriots and Steelers.
In the past, the 3-4 defense was more rarely used, and therefore it did not require an extra emphasis during an entire offseason practice, Coach Pete Carroll said.
