Olindo Mare is showing otherwise.
The Seahawks’ veteran kicker has been successful on all 104 of his kicks in team and individual drills during the minicamps and OTAs this offseason, earning astonishment from special teams coordinator Brian Schneider and his teammates.
“He’s incredible,” Schneider said, adding that not only is Mare making the kicks, but they’re almost all directly in the middle of the uprights. “He’s so accurate and consistent. It makes you feel confident that you’re going to get points when you get the opportunity.”
Mare is no stranger to consistent success in games either, as he’s made 21 consecutive field goals dating back to Week 3 of the 2009 season.
