Quarterback Mike Teel, a sixth-round draft choice last year, was released by the Seahawks this morning. Teel actually beat the club to the official announcement on his Twitter account late Wednesday by writing, “Thanks to everyone in Seattle. All of you have been great. I enjoyed my time here.”
Reilly, a record-setting passer from Central Washington, was claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Rams two weeks ago to challenge Teel for the No. 3 spot behind starter Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst. But Reilly was released Tuesday – the same day Losman was in for a workout.
Losman, a first-round draft choice by the Buffalo Bills in 2004, was signed and participated in the team’s OTA practice Wednesday. Teel got word later in the day that he was being released.
Teel was active for two games as a rookie but did not play — when Hasselbeck was sidelined with cracked ribs.
