Mike Reilly’s dream of playing for the Seahawks lasted roughly two weeks and three OTA practices, as the former Central Washington University quarterback was released today when the club signed wide receiver Marcus Maxwell.
Reilly was claimed off waivers May 4 after being released by the St. Louis Rams.
Maxwell (6-3, 210) played at the University of Oregon and was a seventh-round draft choice by the San Francisco 49ers in 2005. After appearing in four games as a rookie, Maxwell played in the NFL Europa spring league and then spent the 2006 season on the 49ers practice squad. He played five games for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2007 and finished the 2008 and 2009 seasons on injured reserve with the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
