Welcome back, rooks.
The Seahawks’ first-year players have returned to Virginia Mason Athletic Center this morning, making the roster full once again. Per NFL rules, following the post-draft minicamp, rookies are not permitted to rejoin their new team until their university’s finals have finished up. A majority of the country’s colleges wrapped up their spring semesters last week, allowing most of the Seahawks’ first-year players to fly in on Sunday and attend today’s OTA.
The new arrivals have now replenished the roster, as less than 60 healthy players were available during last week’s two OTAs. But thanks to the restocking of first-year players today, the Seahawks will have more than 80 players available for practices from now through the end of the voluntary minicamp in late June.
A handful of rookies, including safety Earl Thomas and defensive end Rob Rose, will not arrive until a later date because their schools are still in session.
