The teachers became students this afternoon.
For nearly two hours today, Seahawks coaches went into learning mode at Virginia Mason Athletic Center as two NFL officiating representatives went through the new rules that have been put in place this offseason. The discussion, which also featured pertinent game film from the 2009 season, focused on everything from the new playoff overtime format to the new on-field placement of the umpire — and how the changes affect game strategy and flow.
“It’s really good to get caught up on all the new rules,” said Coach Pete Carroll, who last coached in the NFL 11 years ago. “We’ve got some learning to do.”
