Dilfer: Walt ‘greatest lineman to ever play’

USA Today has gone beyond selecting an All-Decade team for the 2000s. The publication has come up with a 53-man roster for the just-concluded decade.

The Seahawks had two players selected: Left tackle Walter Jones, who just retired; and left guard Steve Hutchinson, who played with the Seahawks from 2001-05 before signing with the Minnesota Vikings.

Missing from the squad? Shaun Alexander, the league’s MVP in 2005 who rushed for 9,429 yards and 100 touchdowns during the decade.

Former Seahawks QB Trent Dilfer served as analyst for the selections, and had this to say about Jones: “I saw Walt get beat one time in four years. My opinion – greatest offensive lineman to ever play the game.”

You can check out the entire team here.
