Coming and going

Goodbye, Seattle.

A total of 35 Seahawks — more than a third of the players in camp this weekend — caught flights out on Sunday evening following practice, creating a monstrous task for team travel coordinator Jeremy Young. Young had to arrange not only all the round trip flights for the players, but also transportation and lodging in Seattle.

So many players have to come and go because rookies — both drafted and undrafted free-agents — are required by the NFL to depart the team immediately after minicamp, and tryout players leave unless signed by the team. Per League rules, rookies can return to the organization only after their university’s spring semester classes and finals finish up, which is May 14 for most institutions.
