It’ll be a full house at Virginia Mason Athletic Center this weekend.
The Seahawks will have the absolute maximum number of players in camp as the organization looks to add competition and fill its roster for the coming season. NFL teams are allowed to have 80 players for a minicamp in addition to their draft picks, putting the Seahawks at 89. Then add in the 14 tryout players signed for the weekend, and the team will have a whopping 103 players practicing during the three-day minicamp. That’s nearly double the number of players who are permitted on the regular season 53-man roster.
“We’re on the lookout for players who can contribute and compete,” Coach Pete Carroll said. “The goal of these extra players is to add to the competition and make us a better a football team.”
