Seahawks select Oregon cornerback

The Seahawks have selected Oregon cornerback Walter Thurmond with the 13th pick in the fourth round of the NFL draft.

They acquired the pick in a trade with the Tennessee Titans earlier this morning.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Thurmond started the first four games for the Ducks last season before tearing three ligaments in his right knee while returning the opening kickoff in a game against California.

Thurmond was a starter in 2007 and 2008, when he played through ankle, back, groin and pelvis injuries.
