With their second pick in the fourth round of the NFL draft, the Seahawks selected North Carolina defensive E.J. Wilson.
The selection allowed coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider to cross another position off their need-to-get list. While not the pass-rush specialist they were looking for, the 289-pound Wilson provides a stouter alternative. He set the school record for a D-end in the squat (670 pounds).
Wilson started at right end in 2007 before moving to the left side for his final two seasons. He had four sacks last year.
