Seahawks’ pick is Golden

The Seahawks continued to add wide receivers in the second round of the NFL draft today by selecting Notre Dame’s Golden Tate with the 60th pick overall.

Tate, who has decent size (5-11, 195) and speed, joins a group that already includes T.J. Houshmandzadeh, last year’s leading receiver; Deon Butler, a third-round pick last year; and the recently signed duo of Reggie and Mike Williams – both former first-round picks who were out of the league last year.

Tate’s strength is his run after the catch, which is vital to the new offense being installed by coordinator Jeremy Bates.
