In discussing the Seahawks’ efforts in the first three rounds of the NFL draft, coach Pete Carroll made one request: Don’t forget Charlie Whitehurst.
The Seahawks moved from the 40th pick overall in Friday’s second round to No. 60 as part of the trade with the San Diego Chargers to acquire the quarterback last month.
“Really, when you look at the first three picks, Charlie is the fourth guy,” Carroll said. “That’s the way we were thinking. This is like we went out and drafted a guy. That just adds to our excitement about where we are right now, this early in the draft – three terrific picks and also with Charlie two months into throwing with us out here and ready to go.
“So we feel we’ve made a very strong beginning to putting our personnel together.”
