An end to a means?

The quality of the defensive ends in this draft class can be summed up by the fact that only seven were selected in the first three rounds – two in the first, three in the second, two in the third.

Four were selected in the first round in each of the previous three drafts.

“It’s a weak year, it really is,” said Rob Rang, senior analyst for “We knew that coming in, and what happened in the first three rounds only supports that.”

Here’s a list of the D-ends still available heading into the final four rounds on Saturday:

Everson Griffen, USC

Corey Wootton, Northwestern

Greg Hardy, Ole Miss

Austen Lane, Murray State

George Selvie, South Florida

Brandon Lang, Troy

Willie Young, NC State

C.J. Wilson, E. Carolina

Lindsey Witten, UConn

Rahim Alem, LSU

Kevin Basped, Nevada

Jammie Kirlew, Indiana

Clifton Geathers, S. Carolina
